For early departs, we offer a packed breakfast to go.
Conservatory
In 2012 a spacious conservatory was built to the front of the house which serves as a breakfast room and entrance. Our guests have really enjoyed breakfast in this bright room which overlooks our colourful hillside garden. At the end of an enjoyable day, feel free to relax in this cheery space with a refreshment watching the world go by or sit outside on the small patio listening to the trickling burn beside you. Sit here and plan your next day’s adventure – we have lots of outdoor walking books you can browse. We also have some board games you can borrow. This is YOUR holiday and we want to make it as enjoyable as possible!
Children
We welcome children of all ages. We have a Travel cot at an additional cost of £25 per night and a highchair for really little ones. We enjoy having children – as we have 2 of our own grown up ones now, and a traditional Scottie Dog called Domino.
Pets
We regret that we are not able to accept pets.
Drying Facilities
We offer a washing service at £20 per load, and a free drying facility for those wet days of hiking. We also have ample outside undercover area for drying larger items, such as tents or biking equipment available. We also have a secure area for you to store your outdoor equipment and bikes.
Cycle Storage
We cater for many cyclists and have a secure undercover area for your bikes. Please let us know before arrival, and we will organise a key code for you, and have the area ready for your arrival.
Garden
After years of landscaping and planting, our efforts have been rewarded and we now have transformed the scrub hillside into a garden which has become a haven for wildlife. The variety and amount of birds are increasing each year with Chaffinches, Greenfinches, most Tits, Thrushes, Wagtails, Wood Warblers, Wrens, Blackbirds and of course Robins. We also have a family of Owls, Bat’s, the odd Squirrel and Pine martin and if you are lucky you might see a Roe or Red Deer whilst having your breakfast! We can now also add woodpeckers to this list!!
Unfortunately, due to the steepness of the hillside, we do not allow any guests to look round the hillside garden for safety reasons. The garden beside the car park and conservatory has seats to enjoy the fine weather, or for having a cigarette as the guest house is STRICTLY NON-SMOKING.
